Thanks Darren. Trust me, Pacific Rim is friggin blast! I saw it three times at the theater. So, so much fun. And yeah, so far whats been released/leaked regarding the new Godzilla film looks very, very promising. The proof of concept trailer alone was haunting and epic.
Its a double plus as I'm a big fan of De Toro - watched a lot of films he's directed such as Hellboy and the lesser known Spainish language films he's done - and I used to watch the really old Kaiju films from Toho studios. I just hope the Smog Monster doesn't make an appearance! That trailer was superb. Daz
Oh boy you might be disappointed because Yoshimitsu Banno is a producer on this thing and he directed the 70s Smog Monster movie! But seriously, I don't think they licensed any of the other Toho monsters so I think you're safe. LOL
If it can better the last version - and there's no Godzuki cameo even I'd settle for a minor Snog Monster cameo! What matters I think is that they're going back to the source material which counts!
By the way - forgot to ask - bit of 619: Marshall -the inker for Home Part 7 wants to know if there's any more pages for him to do. He completed the first 4 - I'll send you copies but he's like to get on and do a few more before he gets side-tracked into another project. Let me know as I promised to let him know by Saturday so he can plan ahead.
If you can send even one by Saturday I'll let Marshall know asap. I'll send you the pages he's done already right now via e.mail. He opted to be very respectful to your pencils - he's very disciplined in that respect so hope you like them. The rest, no issue if they're not in number order. Just a heads up - the episode goes out end of Feb 2014 - so aiming to get coloring started by end of this month. Thanks mate!
Before I go - do you want to submit a idea for Cohort Presents? We've got issue 1 sorted with content with 5 projects on the boil, issue 2 so far has 2. A present we've not set any deadlines or release dates - we'll do that when we have the next scheduled meeting. You can get the updates at the Cohort Group. I can image you doing something Manga in style! Daz
I was wondering if you were every going to get around to doing any fan art for this film. I really am astonished at the love that Leatherback gets. Maybe it is cause his design was so drastically different from all the other monsters. Not a whole lot of folks like the 2 that helped Slatten at the end of the film. Strange. Anyway....great piece! Very dynamic. Now have a Gypsie Danger fighting Jean Bot
Gipsy vs Jeanbot? Maybe, my friend maybe. Though I think all the leatherback love comes from his obivious resemblance to Kong a classic American kaiju. Man that fight was sweet! And when he explodes out fo the water onto Cherno's back? Made me jump.
